Bryan Baldwin
Bryan Baldwin is an artificial intelligence engineer and the founder of DataStorm Insights. He spends his working hours building machine learning systems for the supply chain industry, where a forecast is only useful if the planner reading it can trust it.
Alongside that work, he designs and builds AI applications that show their sources. The most recent is Wisdom Assistant, which turns author Nelson Miller’s published series into a free online library. Readers can read it, hear it, and ask it questions, and the AI librarian answers from the books and cites the passage it used.
His focus now is the places where a wrong answer costs something: a classroom, a warehouse floor, a supply plan. The aim in each is the same. Build careful systems that people can check, for people in the middle of things.
He is also a writer. He is the author of The Flatlands, the first book in The Ground Level Series, and the middle-grade mystery Gigi’s Last Secret. The supply chain is its own kind of flatland, and part of where that first book came from. Grounded in his Christian faith and years of community leadership, he lives in West Michigan with his family.

An answer should point to where it came from. If a system cannot show its source, it should say so plainly.

A teacher approves the feedback. A planner checks the forecast. The software drafts, and people decide.

Most work happens in ordinary hours, on ordinary days. That is where a good tool earns its keep.
